Cake anatomy Our ingredients We love creating beautiful pieces of edible art, but the taste of everything we make is incredibly important. We want you to enjoy something truly delicious! Our cakes need to taste as good as they look. This is why all of our confectionery is handmade, using only the finest ingredients: Free-range local farm eggs, good quality chocolate, as well as lots and lots of real butter. All of our cakes and bakes are made fresh from scratch, using our own secret recipes. This includes things like lemon curd and salted caramel! Nothing is pre-made or store-bought. No artificial flavours. We like to think that this extra effort makes our products distinctly unique and super delicious. Most of our cakes are covered in classic Swiss meringue buttercream, which is somewhat trickier to make than other icings, but the super silky and not-too-sweet result is so worth it. This buttercream can be flavoured using a variety of methods, from mix-ins (eg. crushed biscuits) to melt-ins (eg. chocolate), which means that we can make almost any flavour. Occasionally we use chocolate ganache which is chocolate and cream melted together – so indulgent! These elements, sprinkled with our love and care, make truly heavenly cakes that are unforgettably enjoyable.
